Taking Care of Success: A New Leader for Our Time

by Kirstie Seaborne

It's time for a new type of Leader, one who Takes Care; of their personal and organisational values, of their people, of the common purpose and the bigger picture. The problem is, many leaders strongly resist expressing the Presence of Care, because they assume it’s about failing to assert their authority and revealing weakness by being too nice, too soft. But they are wrong; it is none of these things. In fact, Taking Care takes courage and commitment. Kirstie explains what Taking Care is really about, and why, when Taking Care, you are setting up the right conditions for success.

In Defense of Invisibility...Do Women Have to be Visible to be Valued?

by Kirstie Seaborne

Is gender still a leadership matter? Women Leaders, and the arenas in which they have practiced their leadership, have traditionally been Invisible and it appears they are still. But is being more Visible the only answer...or are we measuring ourselves against invalid criteria for success? And do we even risk devaluing exactly those qualities and strengths that drive the essential nature of our power? Kirstie questions the argument for valuing visibility over invisibility, and reveals how, if we broaden our acceptance of what is valuable, we can contribute to a new kind of world, one in which none of us have to be more than who we already are; and explains what we must learn so we can make it happen.
